There isn't a picture of KM# E56 on NumisMaster either so I can't be sure, but it sounds right to me. I ran a search on CoinArchives, and the only ones that came up were variants on the two you have. This one on CoinArchives sold for 120 Swiss francs last year.

The "Charles III" coin was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Monte Carlo. That place (legally a district rather than a city) was founded in 1866, and named after Prince Charles whose portrait and years of reign you find on the coin.

The second coin you have is not the essai version but the regular one of that issue. Mintage 25,000 according to the Schön: 24,000 BU and 1,000 proof.

Here are two examples from CGB. The first link shows the trial (essai) version of the Charles III coin, the second one is the regular (non-"essai") version of the wedding coin.

Thanks a lot Sap and Chrisild, I also searched on CGB site but I was not able to find Monaco coins, anyway prices semms a bit high both on CGB and Swiss auction, since I got a lot of 2 coins, 10Fr. menthioned and 50 r. 1974 at 31 euro plus auction fee.
Also the coin found by Sap seems to be exactly the same I have, in my picture is not clear, but from the real coin the brown colors on the coin are the same as in the Swiss auction coin.

Anyway, I got some good lots and someone less good, this one was good.

Antonio.

Looking better it's not the same coin, brown seems to be a problem w/ this coin, but it does't have the same distribution.
