Hopefully not grade creep...I am definitely not an expert, thoughts anyone on the number of MS-66 dimes from 1937 to 1952 jumping from 45 to 57 in a short period?
Along with grade creep I would include, crackouts, more raw coins being submitted, and crossovers. If you can get a hold of some earlier ICCS population reports and compare them with their most recent issue, you can draw some interesting conclusions.
The way that people are entering coins for Registry Sets, many more are starting to join. Couple that with the push on many coin sits that they Have To get coins slabbed and you get increases in the numbers. A few years ago, many coins stayed in normal holders because the cost of the TPG was a hugs percentage of what the coin would ever be worth. People now send stuff in just as a matter or recourse, but I prefer raw coins in normal holders that have some history to them.
