I would be interested to know why you select the grade you choose, too - if you please!

Obverse is quite nice and I would give it an easy 65 Red. However, the reverse has some problems with pimples from plating bubbles and spotting that will become more severe with time.

This looks okay now, but the reverse problems will likely intensify with time, even with special care.

Relatively hit free, strike a little weak on the obverse. Hard to read the obverse fields, appears to be some hazing and light spots. Looks like some carbon behind the ear, a field tick above the back of the head and one by the shoulder.

The reverse shows a better picture, I see some mirror-ish luster, a few light spots (probably not distracting in hand). The slight plating bubbling doesn't count against the grade. The reverse is really nice for the issue, virtually hit free.

Thank you both for your comments. It is extremely helpful to have you mention why you are assigning the grade!

Seems I am a slow learner, but making progress!

I appreciate all the help on this one!

In the process of attempting to learn more about Grading, I discovered a link that I know everyone else probably has seen. It is an online book on grading and it includes a score sheet which I am finding helpful:

Pete - It's better to start all coins at 70 and then remove points for distractions.
