I have absolutely no idea about the provenance of this pendant, and whether-or-not it is made from an ancient (real) coin, or is a fake made whole-cloth for the tourist trade.

My guesses, so far, are that the main elements on the obverse (the "gamboling" young bullock, the 7 circles which MAY possibly be interpreted as "eyes" [as in "eyes of Baal"] and the upthrust phallus-shaped tail of the bullock) may all be symbols alluding to the Canaanite god Baal (as in the one referred to in the Bible as a "golden calf"). If this is a genuine ancient gilded-bronze "hammered" coin, it is amazingly [almost unbelievably so] "centered." It has had a suspension-loop attached (soldered on) at a later date (perhaps by a modern jeweler), which may also account for the tooling marks seen on a small portion of the edge (that at first glance appear possibly to be the machined "reeding" of modern coins, but since it is not continuous, may also be simply the marks made by the jaws of a vice that gripped the item securely whilst the loop was attached)?

In any case, the verso is not as well-preserved, but appears to have some type of inscription in an alphabet that I do not recognize. Do you recognize this as script?

In your opinion, is this pendant made of a genuine ancient coin, or is it a modern fake?

Any info (or hints) on identity will be greatly appreciated.

It's a "magician" token commonly sold to the folks who believe these actually do something. The script is just symbols that are supposed to have some effect.

Virtually worthless and of recent vintage.

@mox, any ideas what the symbol in front of the bull is? It doesn't look like taurus in horoscope symbology...

I've seen that symbol on Indian state coinage, but I do not know it's name or meaning.

I'm thinking now that it may be some sort of religious healing medal/charm/talisman (maybe a Protestant copying of the Catholic saints' medals ?) ... especially thinking back on a verse from Malachi I once heard an evangelical preacher invoke as the text for a sermon on healing ... viz:

Malachi 4:2 "But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy."

A friend suggested the "arcane" symbols (on the reverse) kinda look like "Wicca witchcraft" symbols ... especially the central element which he says looks like the yin/yang symbol that is commonly used by Wiccans (and also appears in a LOT of oriental artwork). Whaddaya think? Is either of these possibilities viable?

I probably shouldn't even mention this, but another friend said he thought it's probably a dog-tag used at Disneyland (because the creature looks more like a Disney-esque goofy dog than a calf/bullock) ... hee-hee

Way to much thought it is a cheaply plated junk jewelry probably for children with it cartoonish design looks to be a dog, the squiggles and circles are just that some times used just to fill space. Sometimes junk is just junk IMO
