Setting here watching the forum and going thru cent rolls, I just found my first 2008. The roll had a 1942 wheat, also. What feels so strange is that it is a Denver mint coin. Seeing as I am about 100 miles due south of Philly, it seems hard to understand how it went into circulation, traveled to the East Coast, found it's way back into where ever they go to be wrapped and redistributed to the bank in less than three months. same thing happened to me a while back with the quarters. Was at work, opened a roll of quarters and all of them were the regular quarter except for 2 brand new, shiny 2008 Oklahoma's

Amazing, but I guess not impossible! I wonder if it was a "message" from a fellow roll-searcher? Maybe he or she brought the 2008D back from a recent trip, or it is one of a handful from a western pen pal? So many possibilities!

Some banks now have coin sent from their branches across the country so they can have both mints. we do that with the dollar coins.
