Jim1953 Pillar of the Community United States 2600 Posts	Posted 03/24/2008 08:57 am Grampa, it looks like MD and there is a good clue besides how it looks. The MM is put on after the die has been hubbed. It is during the hubbing that any DD images are conveyed to the die. The MM is not present during this process. Since the MM shows the same doubling as the date, it has to be Machine Doubling, or applied while the coin was being struck. At least this is how I understand it.
