@cerick, sorry for the delay in taking a look at your copper coin.

I'm leaning away from 1500s Spain because the king's name should be starting at about 12 o'clock on the obv. It is difficult to tell from your pics, but the first few letters seem to be HRD or something like that. In 16th Century Spain, that inscription should start with IOA or CAR for Juan and Carlos (1506 to 1516 AD), CAR for Carlos I (1516-1558 AD), and PHIL for Felipe II (1556-1598 AD) or Felipe III (1598-1621 AD). It might be from the Catholic King time period (1469 to 1504 AD), but I cannot find a match. The style of the crown and the letters point to about this time and place, but it is hard to go with more if I don't have the inscription. Better pics would definitely help, as would a diameter.
