What I have so far is three slabbed Ike's; one PCGS and two NGC. As OCD as I can be, this does not bother me and I will probably stick to those two. There are good coins in ICG and ANACS holders, but I don't have patience to search for them in part because I don't spend money on crossovers. If you are going to get into the registry game, bear in mind that PCGS only accepts their coins and NGC only takes theirs. Since NGC stopped accepting PCGS coins in their registry, I will probably buy fewer NGC coins for certain series. Report this Post to the Staff

All of my sets are a mixture of those two brands of slabs. Some collectors are so fussy that they want all of their slabs from the same company with the same generation of slab label. Slab companies change their labels from time to time. To me taking down to the color or style of the label is just plain silly. Report this Post to the Staff

I could see changing those out if you are so inclined. The change in the color or style of the label is a whole different matter. To me matching all of the slab labels is sillly and like a dog chasing its tail. It's never ended if you are still in the process of building a set. Report this Post to the Staff
BadToTheBone Pillar of the Community United States 1795 Posts	Posted 12/30/2016 5:02 pm I myself agree with the few listed here who collect slabbed coins from either NGC or PCGS. I have my Commemorative set registered with NGC. I try to only purchase NGC slabs exclusively but do purchase PCGS when NGC slabs or grades are not available at the time. I never collected slabbed coins when I first started collecting but after reading about all the the counterfeits and shady practices of so called collectors I have changed my mind. When I buy commemoratives I want to be sure its gold or even silver. Plus I like the protection that it offers the coin. I have bought other slabbed coins but the cross over fees I try to avoid. I just think it makes a much neater collection. I do have coins in collections that are in albums and I like them just find but for my Commemorative collection I prefer slabbed examples.
