Since the coins before 1921 were lacking in detail and usually weakly struck , I think this one would merit an AU-53 grade. Another great looking coin 50cents, one of my favorite series.

Great coin, but I don't think I would go AU. I'm at EF-45, also.

This is a lovely original coin, but based on what PCGS has said about my Walkers I'd grade it as VF-20 or VF-25. True, the skirt lines are typically soft on the early dates but that breastplate has to be full for a VF and this coin barely makes the cut.

I have a 1929-D Walker that I bought from Stack's as an AU and PCGS called it VF-30. It has a sharper breastplate and stronger eagle feather detail than this 1918. I'll post shots when I have a chance.

This is what I hate about TPG's. If I had sent this Walker to PCGS I would have got a 25 or a 30. This Walker is graded VF-35 by PCGS.

Nice coin...I'm not knowledgeable in this series, so I'll withold a grade, since I'd only be guessing. Good photos, esp. the reverse. (The date and sandal area of the obverse seem a bit out-of-focus on my screen.) Appears to be a natural surface. It must feel great to find a beauty like this one. Congratulation!
