Hi,
Over the years, I have found 8 or so each of 1998 and 2000 WAMs, in various conditions, and I have just found my first 1999 WAM, all from coin roll hunting. Since I am unsure of the current value of these, do you think it is worth getting any of these certified? I do not plan to sell these anytime soon, and I currently just have them stored in plain cardboard 2x2s.
Thanks, in advance, for your valued opinions.

Unless they are high grade,68 or higher then no. If you have a 1999 WAM then maybe if it grades 64 or higher. Check ebay sold for values.

Does it cost more to have a graded coin attributed and you have to specifically request it?

Most of the time the answer is "YES" to both of your questions.
Exceptions are such coins as:
-- 1955 DDO cent
-- 1937-D 3-legged Buffalo
-- 1922 Plain cent

2000, & 1998 WAM's are more common so no on the certification BUT the 1999 is a scarcer coin with the WAM. IMO if the condition is exceptional I'd have it certified with the WAM designation.

Can't wait to see pics. If the coin will not grade higher than 66 it is not worth grading IMO,

Here are the photos. I hope they are clear enough... The coin was obviously circulated and has a bit of zinc rot beginning to show... Likely not worth getting graded/certified...

Thanks for the advice. Do you know if there is anything I can do to stop the zinc rot from advancing?
