This is the first year that I did not hear about any gold coins being found by the Salvation army. Did anyone else hear about any being found?

Maybe people got the word out that the head of the "charity" makes a salary of over 100,000$ ?

I saw another story yesterday about a gold coin from the 1715 plate fleet being dropped into one of the kettles. Story called it a 1 escudo, but it looked more to me like a two escudo based on its size.

Happened at two towns in Minnesota and one in Iowa that were all reported well before Christmas.

The $100,000 earned by the head of the huge world wide organization, the Salvation Army, is a PITTANCE compared to any other charitable organization. 9 levels below the top level is where Goodwill starts paying that same amount.

If you compare percentage of funds that go to actually helping people, no one beats the SA.

Yeah our Goodwill regional CEO makes $1.2 million per year + a bunch of other perks. Guess where I'll never donate one red cent.

So you believe that charitable organizations should be run by volunteers? Do you know what a CEO of a large for profit organization makes? $100,000/yr is a joke.
