Today I received a silver pound coin in my change on a bus.

the colour difference between it and other pound coins I had in my hand drew my attention to it.

It appears to be a "Royal arms Silver pound coin 2015." but not one of the double thickness limited addition collector pieces from The Royal Mint site although it looks the same design etc.

I first thought this coin was fake but now I think its legal tender, is it a rare coin or what?

does anyone have any info for me on this as I cannot find anything about it online.

Many thanks for any help in advance

Hello Danny and

There certainly were silver proof versions (normal thickness) of the Jody Clark effigy pound coin made in 2015 - they are still available as part of a set from The Royal Mint:

To determine whether this is a circulated proof or a normal 2015 pound coin that someone has plated with another metal, I think we would need better quality photos and a precise weight. There are also various tests that can be made to see if a coin contains silver.
