It is only "worth 50,000 pounds" if someone is willing to pay so much for a tiny engraving on a banknote. They should let us know if someone actually pays 50,000 for one of the notes. This is only speculation so far.

The problem is, as someone who studied art at university, that people get awed by the value of something, not by the reality of something. So, with all the media saying this is how much it's worth, some plonker with that much t spare will surely buy it in the hope it'll make them an investment in the future. Once all 5 go for 50,000 then they will automatically be considered to be worth that much. Humanity is crazy.
