this looks like it was almost a Cud, appears the broken part of the die was higher up than the rest of the die so it barely struck the planchet. very cool coin..i got it in a small lot yesterday.

i'd love to get a grade and value and whatever opinions and comments the wonderful coin family has to offer

i think you're right..

anyone else able to chime in? I'm really after a value here as I don't collect US, I noticed the Cud so I got it thrown into a small lot I purchased.

Am I seeing things or is the outline of the head upside down on the reverse?

I am in for VF. Clashes are very common for this series but may not make it more valuable than the Cud. This was the first time the mint used nickel and they had major problems with the first several years of the series.
