I have a 1958 nickel that has some weird ridges around the side of it. Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas about it?

The apple variety is more valuable then the blueberry .
so we need the right diagnostic to determine which one it is .

As a straight answer, someone decided to make their own "reeded" nickel. Just damage.

Funny note: my phone auto corrected "reeded" to "Reeses"! It's smarter than I thought...
