I found this coin a number of years ago and stuck it away. I have just taken the time to photograph it and see if I can get it identified. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The images look old world but I found it in the U.S.

@cnorman, first welcome to CCF. Second, this little guy looks ancient Roman to me so I'm going to recommend to the mods to move it to that part of the forum. You will get better help there!

I can just make out what looks like Probus, but there are seriously great experts that can nail this down for you. Most certainly Roman, guessing third century.

I believe it is a Late Roman Bronze (LRB) of the emperor Valens.

In Photoshop looks like DN VALENS PF AVG obv., GLORIA ROMANORVM reverse. Star over letter (A?) reverse right...perhaps like:

I have found several Valen coins on sales sites that are very similar to the one I have. You guys are good, no great. I did not expect results this quickly.
