I mean, he isint lying... Its got a few issues... Issues such as being in 3 pieces... Serious rim damage... And looks like cleaning...

Looks like the remains of some kind of jewelry encasement at the top of the reverse. Perhaps the three pieces were separate in a jewelry piece? Really odd, to be sure.
