I can't tell if it is a medal set inside the holder, or if the holder is seamless with the "medal". At any rate, there is a decent chance it is silver. Check around the edge or in the fine design elements for some mark like ".925 Italy".

Value is subjective. If silver, it is at least worth its melt value. If it is base medal, it's worth whatever someone will offer for it. Could be $5 or $100.

Look at the attachment area above PONTIFF. It looks like there is a very small inscription there that might help identify if it is silver.

Hello drknstrmy - I'm looking for similar information as our Dad had the exact same one - it's a keychain. It says Italy on it and don't think it's silver, as it's brass colored. I'm thinking there isn't any real $ value aside from sentimental value...is that what you found? Seen anywhere else? Thank you :)
