My understanding is that the US Mint has already minted the 30,000 quota, so I don't understand why they have suspended the sales of the sets. If they already bought the Platinum and minted the coins, they have no exposure to the price of platinum. Why don't they just raise the price so people don't by them for the melt value and finish selling the sets? Doesn't make sense to me. Am I missing something?

At least recently due to precious metals volatility, when bullion coin sales were suspended while stocks were on hand, it was a suspension for a price correction and only a temporary suspension. The Mint seems to have an aversion to selling items at less than melt value even if they technically are not taking a loss.
