Probably had to replace the die after a couple hundred more strikes.

Because of the position of the die crack it's not obvious at a glance.
Probably a fair number exist BUT people aren't recognizing them.
Interesting and a nice catch.

P.S. I can't tell if those are fingerprints on the obverse or not BUT if so, I suggest an acetone bath soon.
