think how much worse some of the other sites are.

I was browsing Ubid last night and found a listing that was selling 40 V nickels. These are actually being sold by uBid, not a private seller.

The photo is stolen from Coin Facts. Probably a PR67 or so.

Down below says.. "These have all been circulated with some still in excellant condition."

OK, so I'm still interested. If I can get 10 for $10 plus shipping, I'll buy them and give them away here. Did I mention shipping...

Shipping calculator says... $6 first item, $4 each additional item. I thought, "That can't be right" so I email them...
quote:
Shipping calculator says $6 plus $4 for each additional item. That tells me if I order 10 of these, you're going to charge me $42 to ship a package that's about 10 ounces. Is that correct?

The reply...
quote:
Hi -- Shipping and handling charges are on a per item basis. If you bid on 10 items you will pay 10 shipping and handling charges. Shipment could be in one or multiple boxes.

Mad yet? Lets check the return policy....
quote:
When we receive your returned item, we will refund your order amount less a minimum 15% restocking fee and the original shipping charges.

So, I pay $52 for this lot and I don't like it and return it. They cheerfully refund me $8.50.

Now this is the owner doing this, what do private sellers get away with?

ebay's lookin' pretty good right now.

LOL, what a gouge! Buyer beware--that applies anywhere: ebay, uBid, uLose, etc.
