I found this one a few weeks back. It's the first one I've found in the wild and I was so stoked when I saw it. I believe it's either the Cu-1c-1982P-11 (LD) or Cu-1c-1982P-13 (LD). I can't confirm though. http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-cuds-1982/ Edited by CoinCollector2000 01/12/2017 5:28 pm

All Cud are rare ... and always a tremendous find. For calibration ... I have found a total of 5 Cud in my nickel searches of 358,400 coins ... an average of one every 71,680 coins. Nice find ... congratulations. David

Nice find! I've learned over the past few days about all the errors like this I haven't looked close enough for in over 500k Lincolns browsed. Only been looking for WAM, RPM, DDO and the like. Have a lot more to be looking for now. Love this stuff, learn more every day! Like the little dog said in the commercial, "I tink I need a beee-ger boox!"

Very nice Cud. I have never encountered one in circulation, but I would be thrilled to find one.

@ Crazyb0 - A Cud pretty much jumps out at you and you can usually spot them with the naked eye - especially on the quarters, nickels & dimes.

Nice find! Cuds are a bit more common on nickels then other coins due to the fact that nickel is harder than copper, thus since nickels have the most nickel in them, the dies used to strike nickels break more often then other coins. Cuds on recent dated coins are extremely scarce, since modern quality control procedures at the mint keep most of them from reaching circulation.
