Toronto Maple Leafs 100th Anniversary Season

Tender4848 Valued Member Canada 153 Posts	Posted 01/15/2017 09:13 am In 2009 the Royal Canadian Mint and Canada Post Issued several releases each commemorating the Montreal Canadiens 100th season as a team. These releases included a Montreal Canadiens Special Edition Gold Plated Silver Dollar, Montreal Canadiens Loonie and a Montreal Canadiens Collector Set from Canada Post. Does anyone have information regarding the same for this years Toronto Maple Leafs 100th Anniversary or with all the hype of Canada 150 will the Leafs be forgotten? Intesting bit of history, in 2009 the Montreal Canadians celebrated their 100th anniversary as our first hockey team but the NHL was founded in 1917, the same year as the Toronto Maple Leafs were formed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natio...ockey_League I think we can be sure that RCM will commemorate the occasion in some manner. We can celebrate 100 years as a team or how about a commemorative 50 year coin not winning the cup. I remember watching it back in 1967 on the black and white TV. He!He!! Maybe it's an afterthought and they hope no one will notice? Having a Leafs SD in my collection will be worse than having a Habs silver dollar but it is what it is.... Report this Post to the Staff
