That's Garrett detectors . There's also some decent Whites detectors not that expensive .

The best MineLab you can afford. I often follow my MD buddies in the field and catch nice deep fish that they walked right over the top of.

Doesn't matter what other detectors are mentioned, MineLab of similar price will trounce them.

I currently own three higher-end detectors, White's DFX (which I no longer use), and Minelab's Explorer II and ETrac.
The Minelabs are great coin shooters and I've dug hundreds of silvers with them.
Minelabs aren't great gold detectors, but typically, I'm not a gold hunter.

I'm thinking about adding the Garret AT Pro to my arsenal, it's been out for a while and is very popular. It's a good gold machine, is submersible, and gets decent depth. I'd expect to pay $400-$500 for a nice used setup.

I don't think SHAFTA9a is looking to dig up Gold nuggets or silver dollars from 10'' below the playgrounds . I'm sure he's just looking for a decent detector without spending a grand .

T-Bop, gold nuggets would be good though, wow, great info, I would like to thank everyone for their info.

I presume you can pick one of these up in Canada? I'll check their websites today,

@T-BOP

Maybe not gold nuggs, lol, but you'd be surprised at the amount of 10k and up gold jewelry found in those tot lots!

The Morgan and Peace dollars that I've dug were no more than 3-4" deep. Big coins sink slowly -
