Hi everyone this is my first post I've come across this 50 pence coin a while ago its from 1997 it has a hole in the queens neck just under the necklace and also two small triangles around the edge I thought it may be somebody messing about but just recently a friend found another so I'm wondering if anyone can help its driving me mad lol thanks.

You'll have to zoom into see the triangles on the edges there's two I thought it could have been done in a press but to find another exactly the same is rare to me

I would say that is post mint damage, and someone decided to drill a hole in it. No such coin exists in that condition from the mint. Hope this helps!

It sort of does but the hole isn't completely drilled all the way through and the two tiny triangles are perfect in shape and exactly the same size and to find another exactly the same with exactly the same marks in a completely different place it makes me wonder at first I thought someone may have used a punch of some sort thanks for your help

This is the other coin that was found,the coins are both 1997 is this just pure coincidence!?!
