Hello got this 1960 d penny today while roll hunting just wondering how can I tell the difference

Yep. If the top of the digit "9" is higher than the digit "1", it's the large date.

Agreed,here's a good reference for those.

Note also the inside loop of the 9 the end is blunt and points to the bottom of the 6 on the LD-on the SD the end is pointed and points straight down almost

, also the inside diameter of the 0 is larger on the large date ,and much smaller on the small date .
