I'm not quite comfortable with this 1597 Transylvania thaler offered on ebay (has many of the telltale signs of a cast copy). What's your opinion?

I don't get a good feeling about this coin, primarily because of the surface pitting, especially in the fields. The toning is also strangely even for a Coin that has been tooled with clasp removed.

These are super pieces and really tough to find, but I myself would pass on this one.

Cast in my opinion with raised air bubbles in the fields. Its a PASS for me also even though I don't venture here withese types ...
