Any thoughts on this coin? There should be 3 clear stars on the shield, but that is definitely not he case:

I think I see a third star, but it's rather unclear
Comparing to an Argau 1826 1 Batz at HA.com, some details are muddled--especially on the reverse.
It's an old coin, so perhaps the Swiss weren't so meticulous But, I won't needlessly cast doubts here.

Sorry, I should have explained better, but I was rushing to dinner when I posted this. I bought this coin for small money because there was some question as to its authenticity. Here are my thoughts: If you focus on the reverse (shield side), there is a star between and slightly to the right of the other two. They should all look the same, but they obviously don't. To me it seems that the coin may have been struck, then the die rotated a few degrees counterclockwise and lightly struck again. That would explain the diagonal lines through the third star and the marks on the edge of the shield at three and nine o'clock.....or maybe it's just a poorly made fake. Any thoughts?

Hmmm...I see what you mean about a series of lines through the star, and I also caught those secondary shield corners. I was just interested enough to look this one up at Heritage, but I don't know anything more.
