I have a few pounds of coins put aside for their silver content, so I would like to know how/where to "cash" them in. Thanks in advance.
Rest in Peace

Try selling them here. Local coin shop would be a second option. ebay a third possibility, but postage gets expensive and fees can take a chunk too.
Rest in Peace

You can "cash them in" at precious metals dealers but they give you less than spot silver prices, or sell them on ebay of to an individual. Selling the coins individually or in multiples takes time but you'll get more on return, I take it this was an investment? Check the forum rules and see when you might sell them here?

Actually these coins were from a big collection of other coins my brother and I were given as a Christmas present.

Too bad you have to sell. Like someone said, selling here would be your best bet.

I think you have to have 250 posts to sell here.

Since most of it is 90% silver, you wouldn't do that bad on ebay, based on what I see people overpaying for 90% silver on that site, but the typical seller is going to have 10% fees and 3% paypal.

I think you may consider craigslist. If you do it carefully in a public place and give the impression that whatever that person is buying was the last of it, you can probably get the typical amount-- but with no fees.

The downside is typically someone will have your cell phone number from the ad. So this is best if you have a cell phone that you don't really care if someone has the number, like a pre-paid throwaway type from Walmart or something.

Saw your link, amazing! . Now I see what you're doing. You'll get a lot of opinion on where to sell, but I really think here at CCF would be you're easiest and SAFEST bet...tried twice on Craigslist, first, no show, second, said " maybe outta just take these and walk out" seeing I'm disabled and couldn't chase, my response was " with a hole in you" and showed CCW under table...no sale on that one, not a CL fan!

Do check the forum rules, the sale threads require a limit of posts first, 250 I think as was stated above. Maybe the moderators will make an exception.

Are you willing to break up your coins into different lots or sell all for one?

Some local coin shops do pay pretty good prices on 90% silver. Since they sell over spot, they usually can buy just a bit below spot.

You can also get a quote from online PM sites like APMEX, tell them what you have over the chat room, and if you decide to sell, you will need to send it in via registered mail. I have did this before and deal came out fair.

Save the collectible ones first!

We don't have any S mint mark Ike's.
We have 6 1971's, 2 1972's and 1 1977. Circulated but not in bad shape. If you're still interested I can send you some pictures.
