Hello,

I would like to ask if anybody has seen such boxed set of gold dollars.
What is its origin? Some dealer company? When?

More photos can be seen on this link:

http://tocomabyt.rajce.idnes.cz/US_...e_I_II_III./

Thank you for any help.

Looks like a wooden box with 3 US$1 in (imitation) airtites.

No clue who did it but likely some 'presentation' set sold for 2x what it was worth (if the coins are even real they are probably cleaned).

Check the back of the paperwork, it will probably have a copyright date in small print. That would answer when.

Is there anything written on the top of the box? Usually the companies that market items like this have a "certificate of authenticity" to go along with it. Authenticity is a big concern with gold dollars because there have been so many counterfeits made of them, both in modern times and "back in the day."

Edited to add:

After looking at your like to the web site, the coins appear to be genuine.

Yea looking at them they didn't raise any suspicions. Granted none of these are uncirculated, most appear decently circulated probably VF to XF? Pics weren't the greatest but if Bill agrees they look real then I'll agree with him since his experience vastly trumps my own. I would probably say a value of $600-$800. The type 2 is the most expensive of the 3.
Rest in Peace

All look genuine in the VF-EF range. Actually a neat way to display those little rascals.

The boxes would not have been cheap for a custom made set like this. A bit below VF trends would be a decent buy IF the coins themselves have no problems.

Thank you all for your opinions.

Coins themselves look OK,
I could try to add better photos tomorrow.

I was just curious about the box.
It is highly likely there was some authenticity-guarantee paperwork with it in the past, but it's gone.
