I enjoyed doing the last giveaway (what can I say? I'm a generous guy ) and want to do something for my 500th post that is approaching. I've had some thoughts, but they all seem to be really easy (with the web's help) or incredibly difficult. Any suggestions on a fun and engaging contest? I myself have run out of ideas for contest giverway's .but the last one of guessing how many coins were in the box was very interesting .

Consider posting pictures of "dates only" of 25 world coins and have readers guess the country (and denomination?). Tie resolved by random drawing.

I say guess the sum of a serial number on a bill. Star = 0 and A = 1, B = 2, C = 3 and so on.

Tough trying to find something that can't be researched but still requires more than just luck.

Thanks for the responses. I like the world coin idea, but I don't know enough to recognize what coins are easily identifiable or not. It may be that the the ol' guessing how much is in this jar would be best. I do have a hefty load of nickels...

I did a 'guess how much face value' I had in Barbers. Not sure what all you might have though.

Johntookit, that might not be a bad idea!

1. Make people guess what coin started your collection. the first coin that you remember saving. 2. Pick a coin from your collection and give one hint each day until someone guesses the year, date, mm, denomination (even country if you wish) 3. Guess the weight of a coin jar. I haven't seen any of those. 4. Could be a long term game to make them guess date and time you will hit 500. (not that long term but time could be a factor)

I saw someone post some pictures of coins and had us grade the coins to compared how we do compared to PCGS.

I like Ross Son's idea a lot; kind of like a grading contest.
My idea's pretty bad: have people guess your middle name

@Ross Son: I don't own any slabbed coins so I guess that's a no go but a nice idea. @llewellin: Actually, I really like that idea. I was thinking of something that is not coin related and people have had a hard time guessing my middle name even if they know the first letter! Then, it's completely random and equal odds for every state of collector/member. I also like johntookit's idea but I would probably pick an item so random (on purpose) that I'd have to give hints frequently. I know I'm getting very close to 500, but I also don't know what to give as a prize. I have very few US coins (not including what's for my circ. Jefferson album), but do have a good amount of LWCs (some with errors) and quite a few world coins. I really don't know what people would be interested in. I'll keep thinking on that. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

So...contest initialized. I hope it's not too short.
I'm thinking of adding Mayflower's first suggestion as a bonus.
