Here are mintage figures. None of the first coins have a particularly low mintage number -- I believe 275 million is the lowest.

I suspect you made a typo and have a 1958D Wheat cent? If you do in fact have a 1959D Wheat cent, hold onto that one.

In very nice condition, your wheat cents are worth 2 to 5 cents each. In like new uncirculated condition, they could be worth 49 cents to several dollars each. Welcome to the forum.

The values of any coin is mostly pending the condition. If yours are almost like knew, might be worth a bit more.

Misha, I am aware that 1958 is the last year of the wheat reverse. However, a 1959D mule Wheat penny was reported in the 1980s. It was deemed authentic by the government, but none of the TPGs wanted to touch it.

If you truly have two 90% silver 1969 half dollars, a 1969 S doubled die 1C, 1970 S doubled die 1C, 1974 D doubled die 1C -- all coins you've posted about in the last day -- then I wouldn't be surprised if you also had a 1959D Wheat penny mule in that pocket full of change.

Funny, I remember that 1959-D claim, but haven't heard anything more about it in many years.

I think PCGS has an article on it. I think Lincoln Cent Resource has something on it too? Apparently changed hands twice in the 30-40k range, if I recall correctly.

Thanks - if you find a link, most appreciated. Seems incomprehensible that this could exist.
