Just
inherited a coin that is similar to 1912 Chinese Shansi 10 coin. My coin varies from similar pictures of the coin in that at the nine and three o'clock aspect the symbols are a star instead of Chinese symbol, and area directly above and below are blank. Similar coin on
Amazon is like mine, but not like the one found in coin books. The price for the
Amazon coin is vastly different(cheaper) than what is listed in coin catalogs. The coin has been in my grandfathers safe for 80+ years, so I know it is not a new counterfeit. If it was an old counterfeit, why go through all the hard work to leave off a couple of the most simple symbols?
