I am seeing a number of coin auctions on ebay that use "media mail" to ship coins. It was my understanding that this method of shipping was for media only such as cd's, dvd's, and publications?

And I'll add this--any postal employee is authorized to open media mail to check.
Obviously they know people are saving money this way, and why risk someone looking through your coins?

And that is scary enough since most counter clerks have no idea what qualifies and what doesn't.

But postal clerks can only legally check media mail right?
