I've never heard of them, what are other's thoughts?
Here's a CCF link to a discussion about SEGS:
http://goccf.com/t/185033Sadly, some collectors have confused SEGS with SGS.
I often send error coins, and varieties for SEGS attribution. Also, I find it a less costly service when I'm simply wanting to confirm that a coin is genuine. For the big money coins, PCGS and NGC will reap better returns when a sale is intended.
Personally, I've used all the services and found SEGS to be as consistent about grading as any of the top three. My only complaint of sorts has been the use of subjectively harsh terms to describe problem coins, having environmental damage.
Here's a pic of a SEGS holder. My experience has been that they are more durable, resistant to tampering, and less likely to evidence scratches from handling over time. I also like that they have "top read" when stored in a box.
