I was on "Letgo"(a Kijiji style app) and a guy was selling a 1980 voyageur silver dollar for $200!
Asked him why he's asking so much...replied with "it's diamond cut...only made 3....look it up".

Googled it...nothing.....anyone hear of this?

I'm calling bull.

He is probably referring to a coin in a bezel for jewellery or a buckle, that are sometimes called Diamond Cut

Any of us could get a 1980 dollar, a diamond, and cut the dollar, since diamond is so much harder. So I guess that since he only cut 3, you better get it now before he runs out.

@DBM I saw that online as well....this was just a plain coin....looked like it was circulated (tons of scuffs and scratches).
I asked him if he sold it for asking said "yes". His profile shows no sales but has 5 posting selling silver dollars for $200 each.

Wow!
A great gig if you can get it.
I've got about 40 silver dollars I wouldn't mind selling at that price.
I'll just take my wife's ring, scratch 'em and .......
Can you provide any pics or links?

The diamond cutting changes the polar bear to a canoe of course.
The Northern lights didn't have to be cut, just rearranged.
