I picked this nickel up the other day and am wondering what grade the experts here would give it. Thanks in advance, Blair

Looks XF details because of past cleaning in my opinion. Hairlines on the obverse.

I think it makes AU-50 (just) but also feel it might have been cleaned to the CCF!

Just curious, did you get this coin online or through a brick and mortar store?

I bought it online but from someone who does shows in this area.
It looks like it has something on the surface. I may... carefully use some acetone on it and see if the striations remain.
Thanks everyone!

It's a "woody". The striations are in the planchet. The metals were not mixed completely.

I'm not familiar with a "woody"... is this considered an error? I looked at some cents called woodies and this looks almost exactly the same. I also read that Nickels can't be woodies...
