I have gotten fairly lucky with silver coins on ebay.. I have gotten many for below spot value and have been able to fill in dates and exchange fair coins for better ones when a lot is won. Have others had this luck. I typically don't get high grade coins but average ones abound. Have gotten silver 5 cents to half dollars this way as far back as Edward VII V coins. Unfortunately no Victorias this way yet.

That tends to work for those of you in the US, but up here, it's far less ordinary to get coins for less than melt. I have managed it a couple of times, but I'd have far more success if I had a US address.
