I realize there is some sort of staining or something going on here. Do you think acetone could get rid of it? Nice grade for the price(assuming it doesn't go much higher) if that stuff could be gotten rid of. Certified examples are at least 3x's the price in lower grades.
What grade would you give it? I think F15(details?) based on Photograde
Any other thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

Hmm , I don't think that obverse stain will come out with Acetone . the green residue may or may not come off . I say this because why didn't the seller try to remove it. after all, its a high priced coin and not in a slab . It actually
looks like crayon to me ? F-15 may or may not be details depending on how your conservation turns out .

with Kanga. It looks like someone has already attempted to remove the green coloration, as their are areas of the green in the most exposed portions of the design elements that have the green rubbed off.

Someone has already tried, and failed, to work on this coin.

In almost all instances cheap is cheap for a reason.

I think these sellers are scammers and that is a really poor example of that particular coin. It is cheap because it is in poor condition and has most definite ugly details. Buffalo nickels are so collectable in VF condition for a few hundreds of dollars in graded format why take a chance with some shady internet coin dealer? For so much less than $1000 bucks you can get all these iconic coins in EF condition. There are so many wonderful coins of the early 20th century that can be had why spend a penny on one with ugly details?
