A friend and coworker of mine owns this 1921-D Morgan dollar. I first saw it a couple of years ago, and I remembered the flip more than the coin. Anyway, I asked her if I could take a picture to show you guys/gals.

When it was placed inside this flip and labeled it was then a 57 year old coin- in 1978. Pretty cool.

Even though it looks cleaned to me, that's actually really cool. The flip is so interesting.
Rest in Peace

A part of the value is that it can be dated in that holder to that year. I'd keep it in that holder, or reholder around it, if it were mine.

And the staples are not rusted. That's a bonus.

Nice but 1970s label makers were embossed press letter not inkjet printed. Looks like it was labeled in the late 90s or later.

I think someone just copied what was already marked on the flip or they replaced an old label without bothering to "update" the age. I can see the jagged Courier type font with the enlarged image. She said she got it around 1995 for $10.

Could be. 90s seems about right for the labels. The flip looks a lot like ones I've left in my pocket that went through the washer. Maybe that's what happened back then?
