Tending to agree with Bigchip22.
Haven't seen anything yet that inspires me anything close to the 67 designs.

wildflowerAB Quote: My memory takes me back to the '70s when they were a circulation coin yet it was quite rare to see one. They were only given in change by banks only if customers specifically asked and the bank happened to have ordered some in. One reason why is they couldn't be used in vending machines, parking meters etc., and cash registers never seemed to have space for an extra denomination. I don't think anything has changed. It would be nice to see these as a circulation coin. Back in 2002 there was a circulation 50 cent coin for the Queen's 50th year. They were given out at Canada Post locations.

Have to disagree here 1. We all aware, that the 50c piece doesn't return to the circulation. Even in some locations / events will be available for exchange. 2. Didn't we see already 150-Anniversary design of 50c and compares to the traditional Coat of Arms it lame. IMO, the anyversary logo could appear in each coin as Privy mark, but not as main element.

In 2002, they were not only distributing 50c pieces at the post office, but the Chocolatier "Laura Secords" had an exclusive distributions with these coins too. You bought ice cream or some other delightful desert, and you got these Queens Jubilee 50c pieces as part of your change. You could also ask them for a collector card with 5 of them in it - at face value.

Good promo for the business, and to promote some patrio-thing. ....I do not like the places, that do not take cash as payment, but ready to accept the "tap" via CC or debit or mobile phone.
