Some highlights from tonight's Colonial Acres auctions. Once again, Dan Hughes, Augustus and Martens dominated every auction that I watched. Gatewest, just wondering, do these guys ever buy coins from you? - Jake

These prices will blow your mind:

imho, those prices are insane. These aren't circulation coins where it may be hard to find an example of decent quality, but even Pf70, I'm thinking it's just not worth that much money.

The was also a 2006 S$20 CN Tower coin in PF70 that was listed at $575 CAD, but I didn't save that auction on my watch list. Agreed Dcadon, but these guys are good for the hobby and it doesn't bother me that they create excitement around top pop coins.

No collector with any knowledge in numismatics would pay those exorbant prices for such coins. How can a Canadian $20 for $20 go for $566 when the original price was $20?

These coins could be found in multiple places for a fraction of what they sold for.

Simply a case of paying based on the number on the TPG label. "Raw" coins in original packaging sell for a fraction of those amounts, and look just as good to the naked eye in most cases.

That is a 2004 coin and they did not have 20x20 back then.
