I swear to you that there is a lot more detail in the feathers and crests than this scan brings up. As for the streaks, they are not scratches; I don't know what they are.

The A mint has good detail (crown), E is either worn or weak strike. The streaks appear environmental damage, like paint or other chemical splashed across. Sharp finds for a junk box, were previous owners of German descent perhaps? Love a good story!

The streaking could also be improperly mixed alloy. You can't grade anything with a scan though. Use a camera.
