Just going through some of my collection of oddities. Minted in P.

This one caught my eye two reasons :
1. Wide rim
2. Near date

I was thinking all of the 1980 SBA are wide rim (near date). The only one that is rare if I remember correctly is the 1979-P.

Yes, I believe that '79 is the only year for the rare variations.

When SBA dollars were minted in 1979, most were narrow rim/far date. Near the end of the year, the Philadelphia mint started minting with a wide rim design. San Francisco and Denver minted with a narrow rim throughout 1979. All three mints moved to wide rim in 1980. More detailed information: http://www.smalldollars.com/dollar/page29.html
