Hello,

I hope I've posted this in the right place, but I have found a (pretty rare I think) brown twenty pence coin, and I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out in figuring out what that would be worth. I will attach a picture tommorrow. It is a brown British 20 pence coin from 1995 with a dark brown colour similar to the colour of chocolate.

Thanks,
Matthew

Hello and to the Forum!

Your 20p coin has probably been buried in the ground for a while. I own a metal detector and have dug up quite a lot of 20p coins, and they almost always go brown after a few years in the ground.

Nope, the coin was not buried in the ground, but it is quite old so that might be it.

Still sounds like environmental damage but very difficult to tell without images.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved
