Hello, experts.

My name is Tom, and I'm part of a trivia team that's going to be competing in a big competition next week.

One of the questions is going to be about an image of what *appears* to be a coin (apologies if it's not). The question writers have grayed out everything but the picture of the person. I'm no expert in coins, so I thought I'd try to ask some experts for help.

Other teams are going to be searching for the same information, so I can't attach the image to this post, but here's a link to it:

If you have any idea what this might be, please let me know. I can't repay you for your efforts, but trust me--you'd be forever in my debt!

Thanks,
Tom

Your link is broken (dangerous).

Also, I wouldn't feel right in helping because this is for a competition. I suggest doing research first. The technology exists to search the web by image.

Sorry about the link! It was a dropbox file.

I'd post the picture here, but then other teams might be able to see your wisdom! I wish I didn't have to be so secretive; it can be annoying. If someone would allow me to PM them, I could do it that way.

Spruett001, I actually did some reverse-image searches and research on various coin-collecting/coin-database sites before I came here, but there wasn't any way to search by image because the area surrounding the person on the coin is all grayed out.

The trivia contest I'm taking part in is all for fun--there are no cash prizes or anything. Just friendly competition. Again, if you're willing to help, please let me know!

Thanks!

Highly unlikely, you're too new to use the PM.

Not only that, but the value in using the forum is the many experienced numismatists that frequent it. I doubt there is any one person that knows all coins ever made, but together we come a bit closer.

If you were to ask only one person, then that's pretty much making them do your research for you.

Sorry! It wasn't my intention to make people do research for me. I cropped the photo a bit so that people won't be able to find it.

Here it is:
