43p-Doubled-Eye-Variety?

Not sure if thats what it is, been sorting through some of my keepers from about 8 yrs ago. Forgot why I kept some of them. I'm so unsure that I would rather the experts weigh in on what I am not sure of.

Maybe. I checked a few sites with no luck though. Hang on to it and don't clean it in anyway.

Looks promising. That's a valuable coin if it is.

Can we see some close up images of the wording on the coin?
The eye is not the only doubling to show on the known doubled die.

I will try to get some better images of it, this thing saw a lot of pockets before I got it so there isn't a lot of good definition. I had not seen doubling on the lettering but will look again and take more photos.I never clean coins that much I do know. Thank you for your comments.

Mine is pretty worn and might make for good comparative material so here is a photo for a side by side.

I believe you have a match!

I did an overlay and the eye all matches up nicely. Looking closely at your other images, I am able to see the doubling on the right hand edges of the devices that also match the known examples.

You can also see the die clash by the chin, a known die marker.

Being circulated, such as this one, it can be difficult to tell damage from the actual doubled die. You have the real deal!

Nice one!

Coop, I have that variety as CONECA DDO-006. Your graphic has it as DDO-002. Am I missing something?

Thank you for helping me out with this one, does such a worn one hold any value or should it go in my "nice to have" pile.

I would think this variety would have value in nearly any grade.

In 2014, at auction, one of these that graded G-08 still brought $47.00.

In 2013, at auction, one of these that graded MS-65 brought $483.00.
