Found this . . . looks to me like doubling on the reverse "ONE DOLLAR" lettering.

x2 on what John says. The doubling is shelf-like and flat and appearance.

Definitely MD/Strike Doubling.


I'd still keep it as people do collect examples of MD and your coin is a very nice example!

Seems like the larger coins show this on the reverse area for the denomination. This is actually the devices being reduced. If it were hub doubling they would be enlarged.
