All the details from the shield and black patina so great
12.6g.

TIBERIUS AE dupondius. Rome mint, 22 AD. TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVST IMP VIII, laureate head left. Reverse - CLEMENTIAE, Facing bust of Tiberius at center of ceremonial shield, S C at sides. RIC 38, Vagi 445. Very rare. 28mm, 12.6g.

David Vagi notes that this issue celebrates the awarding of a shield of valor (Clipeus Virtvtis) to Tiberius by the Senate

Super coin @imperator. By the way, I'm glad someone else here quotes their Vagi books:

What a beautiful coin with such a unique reverse.

Hard to believe the Senate would award anything to Tiberius considering what a bad Emperor he was.

A beautiful piece !
I have long wanted one myself but they are difficult to find without busting the budget.
I am going broke right now as it is but I have also selected Tiberius as one of the emperors to devote some extra resources on.
Hopefully I might find the right one before too long !
