Big green. RIC 564 variant with Dacia sitting on an oval and angular shield, trophy to left.

Not high grade but pleasing and smooth with a nice green patina. I like the reverses with trophy/arms, I seem to seek those out.

I agree that it is a very nice coin. Any thoughts about the red staining on the obv and rev? Can it be removed without sacrificing the patina?

Great coin. Do watch this coin for bronze disease. It could be the lighting for the photography but some of the speckles on the reverse have that chalky green (and scary) look.

Great "eye appeal"
Relatively smooth glossy patina
Not a VF+ but gets a plus for the pleasing good looks. Of course the color is perfect too.

I don't think bronze disease is an issue here. Coins with thick patination that suffer it usually have it erupt from beneath leaving massive scarring.
I think it is just normal pitting in an otherwise excellent surface.

Great coin!
Maybe the red part of the coin is restarurated. For example fill some kind of hole. What do you think?

Thanks for all the comments! I did look at the reverse under a loupe, and while the photo does make it look chalky green, it is actually a dark green in some minor pitting (not the bright neon red flag type green). I WILL however keep an eye on it, I do like to look at my coins in hand, if something changes, I'll know and work to deal with it. As for the red spots, I think I read that could be localized lead oxide patina. One thing is for certain, it isn't coming off!

Nice Sestertius,

Here is my Hadrian Ae As, of Dacia. The word "Dacia" appears in the exergue also.

Dacia as ancient roman province has an interesting story.
